Meet Sonia Terwiske
Sonia legally immigrated to the United States at the age of 12. Her parents were business owners in India who sold their companies and used funds from the sale to move to beautiful Orange County. Born to a mathematician father and a mother who was a lawyer, her parents were able to overcome the struggles and challenges most immigrant families face upon moving to the United States. Through her parents, Sonia learned first hand that anyone with discipline, dedication, hard work, and a good education can achieve not only financial stability but also aspire to follow their dreams and achieve economic prosperity.
It is also for this reason, Sonia believes academic excellence is imperative.
Sonia has over 10 years of experience in hospitality management. From opening restaurants to creating and designing menus, restaurant slogans to corporate sales, Sonia loved her time in hospitality management. Her favorite experience was working at California Pizza Kitchen, where she met the love of her life, now her husband of 11 years. As much as Sonia loved hospitality, she found that she was more driven by advocacy and shaping public policy.
Sonia has volunteered her time serving the residents of Aliso Viejo and South Orange County for over 5 years. Currently, she serves on her local HOA Board where she is responsible for voting on various issues, managing budgets, addressing concerns of homeowners, and being proactive in planning.
Sonia also serves on the AYSO Executive Board as a Child Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA) ensuring that every coach and every volunteer is trained, certified, and background checked prior to being around children in our Community. In addition, she is also responsible for compliance and ethics as a CVPA.
Sonia takes the safety of our kids very seriously.
Sonia received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Biola University. She carries the same entrepreneurial spirit as her parents and truly believes that small businesses are the backbone of our economy. Currently, Sonia is the owner of C Capitol. C Capitol is intended to be a voice and platform for financial literacy and resources for pregnant women, elderly women, and widowed women. Empowering women to be financially stable and savvy, according to Sonia, is true empowerment.
The Terwiske Family loves living in Aliso Viejo. They chose to call Aliso their home because of its excellent schools, beautiful trails, and proximity to the world’s best beaches.
As a mom, Sonia wants to be as present as possible in the lives of her children. Like her parents and most, she wants to give her children a better life than she had.
